My question is: is it permissible for a woman to pray in places where there are non-mahram men who can see her from in front and from behind, as is the case when she is on a trip or in the airport, and she is afraid that the time for the prayer will end? How should she pray in these situations?

Surah At-Talaq(65), Verse 12:

Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends, all things in (His) Knowledge.
(English – Yusuf Ali)

This is some embracing circumstances for Muslim women.

consider you are waiting for the flight in airport

In this situation how do you complete your salah. Let’s say you have journey of 5 hours and you began your journey at 12:00 P.M and let’s assume Zhur salah is at 1:00 P.M. Now, as you are waiting for flight before 12:00 P.M and zhur salah will encounter you while you are on flight, Now you can pray on very position you seated, you need not to pray in flight in qiyam position where men pass hitherto. If your journey is beyond sunset, you can complete your asr pray in sitting position. In the same fashion if your journey continues until end of the twilight you have chance to combine Magrib+ Isha. But if you have to end your journey before the sunset it is better if you can combine Zhur+Asr and when you reach your destination you can pray remaing salah at the place you planned to stay. It is obvious that you shall be with your mahram.
